I still love the Lonesome rd Coffee lounge.
it was opened about 1968 for me and my contempories.
the ymca opened it and was run by ymca voluteers.
we used to meet there and 'hang' any night of the week. girls and guys alike.
it had a kitchen for simple foods and coffee / tea/ cold drinks - ham toasties. and chocky bars. not a coffee loung proper.
on sunday nights we had folk singers come in and play, subdued lights.... i loved it.
corner of barkly st. i lived just up the road on barkly st, opposite the west footscray post office. i worked there when i was fifteen delivering telegrams....
lot has happened since then i will 59 jan 18.
and living in perth wa.

We drove past Lonesome Road Folk Coffee Lounge today and were intrigued about its history.
It would be terrific if someone could explain its origin - when it started, what it was all about and when it shut.
